unit would lock but wouldn't unlock. handle mechanism wouldn't move far enough to release the door. had to manually release it from within the door. wiring harness didn't match the unit plug. ended up removing one spring from this unit to replace it on the OEM part and got the old one to work properly again.

Unfortunately I'm out of the return period but this is not working when I use anything but the key to lock it. It sticks and then I have to manually unlock it from the inside which is a pain.

This product is trash. It's not powerful enough to unlock the gate lock. Returned.

Had to replace my 2012 Jeep wrangler rear hatch (trunk) latch. Took about 10-15 minutes and works perfectly. Be aware your original and this replacement have plastic for the latch guides at the mouth. If yours look frayed you will have the problem of the door springing open or not opening at all. Easy fix and for a good piece of mind that your hatch will function properly.
