I needed to build a small box to hold small booklets that contain track listings of many USB MP3 drives. The size of the box was predetermined by the size of the booklets. The box top needed to be hinged, and these hinges worked perfectly. Because the sides of the box are only 3/16 of an inch thick, had to use 6-32 X 3/8 stainless steel flat head screws and 6-32 nuts because of the thinness of the box sides. I painted the screws and nuts with Testors Semi-Gloss Black model paint to match the hinges. These hinges are very sturdy and open and close flawlessly. Now I just to need to figure out what to do with the three left over hinges.

These piano hinges are sturdy and I have no concerns that they will break or bend once installed. They function properly and freely and easily pivot. They have a matte black finish that is free of imperfections and blemishes. I plan on using them on the lids of a storage bench that I am making.They are fit for purpose and I would definitely recommend them; I will be ordering them again.

Saying that these are “heavy duty” is a complete misnomer. These are very thin and feel flimsy as all get out, to the point I didn’t even bother to install them because you can tell they wouldn’t last a week in a house where kids ever slam shut or open cabinet doors. I bought another pair by another manufacturer, which although longer, clearly show the difference in width of the metal used in the hinges. Not happy at all with how these were represented as heavy duty when obviously they are not.
