It doesn't take long before the overhead in MTG can be... challenging. And the more people playing at the table, the harder it is to keep track of things. These are a little more convenient to work with than basic dice, and offer a few more ways to mark things.Fortunately, the most common modifiers are in equal increments to power and toughness--so in the common case this set is easy to work with, but if you're buffing or debuffing only power or only toughness for more than a single turn, you'll be back to using color coded dice.It's not enough for me to mark it down, the dice are all laid out like regular dice when it would have been much more convenient if they were spindown. The keyword dice are going to be a bit awkward no matter what, but the other dice would all be much easier to use if there was a linear progression around the faces instead of keeping with the usual die arrangement of having opposite sides sum to the number of sides +1. That's done to help keep them fair for rolling so there isn't a "high side" and "low side". It's most inconvenient on the life total icosahedrons (d20), as they have more sides to fumble through when updating your total.

These dice are amazing and I especially like this version of the dice set because you typically will use a lot more +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters than you will attribute counters. The dice make it easy to keep track of stats and abilities instead of trying to remember just based off the cards you play. It makes for a much cleaner looking card and cleaner looking board. It's easy to see +5 or +6 instead of trying to remember how many counters there are and then having to count them up repeatedly every time you forget. You also get a lot for the price, 2 bags, some D20s, everything you need is right there. I would definitely recommend these to any Magic player.
