What's the Rocker arms & How Does It Work?
- Rocker arms are reciprocating lever used in an internal combustion engine. They are typically located between the intake and exhaust valves and pushrods which are connected with crankshaft below the engine.
- When the crankshaft rotates it cause up and down movement of the pushrods, then the pushrods pushed and pulled the rocker arm to rock up and down which cause opening and closing of the intake and exhaust valves. Then power can flow from the combustion chamber of engine through various parts to the wheels to put the vehicle in motion.
- The broken and loose rocker arm cause poor performance of the engine, the engine will be enable to take the full load of the vehicle and in severe cases engine failed to start.

When an original rocker arm popped off on its own and became dislodged under the valve cover, I ordered these replacements. They fit my 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport 3.7l V6 4x4 engine. Each cylinder takes two lifters/rockers. THe lifters have a little give as they have not been pumped up and made stiff by pressurized oil yet. Lifters and rockers seem well-made and fit my engine perfectly. A rocker tool (not included) is needed for dismantle of the rocker from the lifter and install. Personally, I just used an Allen wrench (not included) to take off and a small pry bar for installation (not included). I consider this design of rockers an upgrade from the original as they are designed to spray fluid directly on the rockers' rollers and not up on the valve cover like the OEMs were designed.
