We use this pump with a 55-gallon barrel, and it operates flawlessly. Excellent value for the price. Simple to assemble and easy to use.

The pump itself works well, but the vinyl hose included was kinked severely and even after soaking in very hot water did not straighten out to my satisfaction. It didn't crack, but it may just be less effort to run to the hardware store and get a few feet of kink-free hose if you need it at all. The product info on Amazon claims the telescoping pipe has a maximum length of 100cm (39.37"), but I 'm not sure how two 45cm pieces of pipe can achieve that length. I measured the maximum length of the two pipes to be 87cm (34.5"), which is still enough to drain most 55 gal drums.

This pump is a standard self priming drum pump for motor oil. It is super simple to assemble and easy to install. You can pump about a gallon of 5W-30 in about 20 seconds or so making it perfect for smaller garages or for oil that doesn’t sell as quickly at your shop. It would also be good for other viscous fluids and types of oils. Overall I’m happy with the functionality of the pump and it gets the job done. The threads are nice too and matched up to my oil drum no problem.
