I have a half dozen Lenovo Thinkpad laptops and they all have the same silly trackpoint "eraser" in the keyboard. This is a random generic replacement, but it fits fine, and works fine, and having a few spares in case I lose one again is fine.

Make sure you are buying these for the right computer when purchasing. Not all of them are the same and make sure you get the right size for your laptop. If you do not order carefully you will have to go through returning something with such small packaging.

I started looking at new laptops and was looking at maybe getting a new keyboard and just replacing the red knub changed my laptop experience completely. And it is way easier on your fingers with a new soft red dot.

It's a great product that works as it should and I would suggest to purchasers of this product to consider buying it again. I used this product as a replacement on an older IBM PS2 keyboard with a built in TrackPoint that lost the original rounded TrackPoint Soft Dome Tip that didn't want to stay on while in use. This product might be a generic copy of the IBM TrackPoint Tip(s), but you can't beat a replacement part which is offered as an 8-piece item at $8.00 that stays exactly where you put or want it to be in comparison to other cheaper ill-fitting tips that aren't of good quality...

They do not have the little holes that the stock caps do. There's 4 little arrows for up/down/left/right on the TrackPoint and the stock caps have these very small little holes in them that form-fit to go over those arrows.Without those little holes on these caps, you'll notice that using the TrackPoint isn't very accurate and kind of drifts. You can DIY the holes but you have to be pretty precise. But in a pinch, these work fine.I usually never use the TrackPoint anyway but lost the original cap and it looks weird without it. I would say get these as a nice cheap replacement if you lose your original one, but look elsewhere for caps with those proper cutouts if you use the TrackPoint a lot.

instead of 6 which is nice, a bit pricey and a bit small, but fits the ibm thinkpad keyboard fine and probably others as well. it works so i can't complain and several of them will last for several years of use
