We were given a 5,500 watt generator by a friend who said, "you can have it for parts. Good luck getting it running." He had left if with stale fuel in his garage for years. All it needed was to replace the varnished up carb. So for what we paid for this carb, which was not much BTW, we now have a perfect running B&S generator, usually costing nearly $1,000!We did have to do one small modification to the plate where the throttle arm connects. Just drilled a small hole for the arm. Other than that it was plug and play.Very happy with this product.

Great parts, this carburetor started on the first pull of the rope. I would definitely buy from them again.

My 25+ year old generator has been hard to start for years. It is 10 hp and pull start and many times I have to pull for dozens of times then take a break and start again. It is a bit tedious to get to a couple of the bolts but not too bad. Worst part is the generator is so big I had to work on it on the garage floor and could not see underneath for one of the bolts.Since installing this carburetor the first time I started the generator it was only a couple of pulls. I then waited for over 6 months before starting it again and it was difficult to start. Not as bad as before but took 20 or so pulls. Maybe that was me waiting too long, so the next starting was 3 months later. It started on the second pull.I am not a mechanic but I am able to figure things out with time. It was easy enough to install, I just took my time, probably took me twice the time it should but I was going slow and cautious to make sure everything went together properly.I would buy again for another engine if/when needed.

Didn’t fit work on my Tecumseh hm100 engine(2000model). The throttle plate holes didn’t match up with the OEM carburetor and the gas line had a 90 degree fitting instead of a straight fitting. After enlarging one of the holes on the throttle plate to attach linkage and adding a fuel shutoff valve to the gas line to get enough slack to attach the gas line to the carburetor the engine wouldn’t start. Spraying starter fluid into the carburetor allowed the engine to run a couple of cycles but the engine wasn’t getting gas through the carburetor. I purchased another carburetor from Amazon and paid closer attention to the gas fitting and throttle plate. Engine started right up. The air filter and hose clamps were useful but the gas line was too short to be of any use.

Fit my generator with no issues. Quick and easy install without the mess and frustration of cleaning an ethanol damaged carb.

Install this carburetor on a 10hp Tecumseh driven generator. I exchanged the plastic float with the old carburetor metal float since that one allowed me to adjust the float level at the needle thus allowing for a higher gas level in the bowl. Before doing this the engine would only run with the choke half close since there is not an adjustment to enrichen the fuel going into the engine. Now it runs perfect. I realize one has to have working knowledge of carburetors to make this changes but for the little money I paid for this carburetor I am very please with the results. Product was as advertised and it arrived sooner than I expected and yes I would order from this seller again.

I ordered this carb for a 10 HP Tecumseh engine on a 6250/5000 generator. The carb looks almost the same as the original, but the throttle plate holes (I used the middle of the small holes) is too small in diameter. I drilled it to fit the governor linkage. The bolt holes in the side of the carb that hold the bracket that the shield plate attaches to were not tapped. They were also too small in diameter for the bolts. The left one cracked slightly and had to JB Weld it. The carb fits perfectly and is easy to install otherwise, but once I started the engine, it surged annoyingly. I removed the low speed jet and drilled it out to .6mm. That seemed to help, but it still missed. I drilled to .8mm which brought back the surging. I took the old jet out of the old carb and put it into this carb. The engine ran perfectly afterward. If you aren't a mechanic, you might want to try an OEM carb over this one.
