I took a chance and purchased the Myamis top box (had no reviews at the time). In order to determine the best top box for use, I had to compare it to another one (from the market leader, starts with a “G”...., (58L), and would keep the better choice and send the other back. Here is what I determined:This Myamis top case came with lots of extras, the other G….. box only came with a manual. Included with the Myamis case is a solid made mounting plate with lots of hardware, an inner box liner for the lid and bottom compartment, wet and dry wipes, two reflective yellow stripes, two piece backrest (for passenger), and a metal logo sticker, but absolutely no instructions! For the G…. box, the liner, mounting plate with hardware, and the passenger backrest is available for extra upcost. We had a hard time fitting two XL modular helmets into the “G” box (and that is without a box liner). One way to fit these into the Myamis box was to invert one helmet, which is ok but a little tight. Still the best way to store two helmets in this box is to stack these on top of each other and lay them on their side (see pix). The latter position also gains more space to pack a jacket and gloves. Both trunks are high quality and appear to be solidly made. The difference is in looks and size. We noticed the Myamis box showed some dried sealer on the corner edges inside where the walls are overlapping and were folded and riveted. This is a good indicator for keeping the inside of the trunk dry (more details about that in a later review). Both top boxes have strong locks, but the G ..... box has a smoother-operating lock. The Myamis box comes with a separate bottom lock for the mounting plate to connect to, and is operated with the same key. The G .... box has the mounting plate lock mechanism connected to the trunk lock, meaning you have to unlock this box in order to separate the trunk from the mounting plate. The G….. box came with a higher price tag, the Myamis box was considerably less and comes with all the hardware and other goodies; making it a better deal.In all, it appears that we got a better value with the Myamis top box than with the “G….. box. We kept the Myamis box.A more detailed review will follow after a few weeks of usage.***********************************************************************************************************************------ 2ND REVIEW - Myamis Hard Top Box ------ September 5th, 2022This hard case is easy to mount on, and to take off. However, make sure the bottom locking mechanism of this box is totally snapped in and the key is turned to the securely locked position! If the key is not turned to the locked position, the box can come loose through vibration and road roughness while driving. Once it is securely locked, the box will stay in place without any movement (given the fact that the mounting plate is correctly installed). One thing about this size of trunk is not to overload it. That can cause lots of stress between the luggage rack and frame. Another one is possible balancing issues when driving, however the large size of this trunk comes in handy. I don’t carry more than twenty-five lbs of weight in this trunk. If you want to pack things on top of this trunk, you can fasten it by using the four strap latches in front and back of the lid. If you don’t strap anything on top of this lid, you should always have easy access to the content of the trunk. The two back latches on the lid, I use to fasten a large waterproof travel duffel bag for another layer of security. No negative driveability has been detected with a load in the trunk. At this point, I have not experienced enough bad weather to determine the water resistance of this trunk. However, I tested this box with a garden hose connected to city water pressure dousing it on all four sides. At first, I used the fine spray setting on the hose nozzle with a result of a dry outcome inside. The next step was to increase the amount of water coming from the nozzle resulting in a more dense spray. Again, there was no water detected inside the box. On the last test, I wanted to know how much water resistance this box was capable of. With a solid full stream out of the nozzle, I targeted the corners where the edges of the sides were folded and riveted. The outcome was that the inside of the trunk collected a little puddle. Now given the fact that we normally don't face a severe weather situation like this while traveling, I determined that this trunk has great water repellency, but is not totally water tight. The only thing that can be viewed as a negative, is the size of this box (one must weigh-off the advantage of storage space compared to size). However, this trunk is only a little larger (60L) than the market leader (G …. (58L). For taking short trips, usually I quickly uninstall this trunk. With all this said, I truly can report no buyer's regrets and give it fairly two thumbs up!I definitely can recommend this hard trunk and would buy it again!
