Pros:-It is a pretty palette. This would work really well as a paint palette decoration-Though I doubt this is air tight, the lid closes nice and snug.Cons:-The lid/mixing spot is not good for mixing. For one, it has a clear backing so it is more difficult to mix colors. Also, it is very smooth plastic, so you are going to constantly be dealing with pooling. This makes mixing colors more difficult. (Even if you scrub it like you would with the tin watercolor boxes, the type of plastic this is will not result the improvement)-The lid opens and hinges odd. The lid lays flat below the palette part and the palette part is above and slanted. Other than looking pretty, I'm not a fan of this design for several reasons:--Unless there is an proportionate amount of weight on each side, the weight of the bottom portions lifts the lid so both the top and bottom are slanted. This will not work well if you use a regular amount of water that watercolor requires. This makes the water pool down and would unintentionally mix your colors. (This would be fine for gouache). With both parts slanted, it also causes it to wobble.--When using watercolor in the lid/mixing portion, when you lift the lid to close the palette, the water will spill down and get on the surrounding surface and outer palette since the height of the lid is too short.Overall 3/5. Again, this palette is pretty when you set it up. But with actual painting use, this is one of the most poorly designed watercolor palettes that I've tried.

Made much more solid than I expected. Sturdy material, well made. Decent seal, can be used for other things besides paint. I would definitely consider storing micro beads. Easy to clean and good value.

I just wanted a compact and clear little case for my watercolors while traveling. This doesn't seal shut so I would never travel with mixed colors but it does work well for mixing and painting little scenes. It's a thicker acrylic and feels like it would hold up well in my bag. Each well is about the size of a dime.4-start because it doesn't lay flat when opened.

When I first saw this paint storage palette box I said what in the world this will never work. I took it to my watercolor class that night and it worked perfectly. I was able to mix my colors or add just water perfectly. It took me a while to be able to get the lid opened easily, the more I worked it the easier it was. All in all I like this box. I can keep it in my pencil box and don't have to mess up the lid of my watercolors or carry a big palette around.,
