The chintzy-plastic fuel line connector on my new Mercury outboard broke after just a couple uses. The awkward placement of the male connector under a handle made it apparent that this breakage would easily happen frequently, since I remove the fuel tank and line from my small aluminum V-hull between uses. Mercury does not have metal pieces, so I decided to get this non-OEM replacement. Best decision ever! It's easier to put my quick connect line on and off, and I no longer fear breaking the tiny plastic end.
