Let me say the quality and look of the Backrest is good. It fit perfectly on my 2015 Heritage with a stock seat, and works fine with and without the passenger seat. The rest itself is very comfortable, it supports the back and gives you great posture on the bike. The problem for me was it moved me too far forward on the seat to where you are no longer sitting in the saddle but on the hump that divides your legs. VERY VERY uncomfortable. I also had to push my Ape Hanger handlebars forward, this also caused arm fatigue and was not comfortable. (the apes are otherwise very comfortable). I will continue my search for a seat with a backrest, I know one exists, I just did not want to spend the $$$.

I normally don't do reviews but I found this item to be excellent and have approximately 2000 miles on the rest. It still looks as if it just came out of the box. I read it is too rigid, plain and lack adjustments. Possibly the case but for me, the rest push me slightly forward. I thought I wouldn’t like this new position but OMG, it made a huge difference! It greatly reduced my back, neck and shoulder discomfort. It seems I was slouching against the rear pass seat for lower back support. That little change plus the support on the lower back has greatly increased my enjoyment and riding time.

I was very skeptical about this feeling my Softail, but it actually works pretty well. The description doesn't say it will fit a 2005 but it does! Very comfortable ride. Highly recommend.

I bought this for my 2022 Harley Davidson Heritage Classic 114. Description said it fit up to 2018 models but it fit perfectly on my 2022. This backrest is comfortable and well made. I was considering buying a seat with built in backrest. This just saved me $800.
