I purchased this backrest only to find once it arrived that it DID NOT fit my ‘08 Street Glide as advertised.I knew ordering it that it didn’t come with instructions, but I’m extremely handy and have been working on bikes and cars since I was 10 years old and I’m now almost 50.Brackets that are supplied are either too short for mounting or would require me to drill through the frame in order to mount and that ain’t going to happen.ONCE AGAIN WARNING DOES NOT FIT ‘08 Harley-Davidson Street Glide.

I am gonna keep this short, parked my harley, sunny day, came out and the back rest was half burned. After looking at the back rest closely it seems the reflection from the sun of my rear view mirror caught the outer layer on fire. What... The... H?That should never happen

The backrest pad fits LOOSELY on the vertical bar. I don't expect it will fall off or anything like that, but just feels like poor quality fitment. The bracket fitment to the frame is fine and STURDY. As mentioned, there are NO directions. I figured it out just fine, but it took 3-4 test-fits until I found a position that worked for me. On my 2018 Street Glide I found that the 2nd set of holes from the top (see pics) worked best, and I moved both rubber spacers to the bottom so that it could tilt far enough forward. It comes with several bolts and nuts...I used NONE and used my own misc bolt to join the 2 bracket pieces together.

I didn't wanna spend the amount HD stealership wanted this was a good alternative wish it had more adjustment but for price can't beat it
