Before installing your new regulator/rectifier:
1.Check the AC output of the stator;
2.Replace any burned or corroded connectors on stator and regulator/rectifier;
3.Check and repair any melted wiring;
4.Use high temp dielectric grease on all connectors.

I couldn't keep my battery charged and I thought it was the stator but I got this as a back up. This ended up solving the problem! I was worried that the colors didn't match up. On the included cables, red was where black should be and green was where red should have been. I didn't even use the cables, I just plugged in the stock connector to this rectifier and I was back in action. Good part for my 2007 XV250 Virago.
