It's a bit different that expected. It does work with a phone app and is not a stand alone device. It's a bit confusing at first but becomes easy very quickly. It comes well packaged and has a very novel appearance with a small LED screen, second set of ear tabs and a charging cable. It listens well and translates pretty quick. I recommend this product 100%
