We eat quite a bit of rice these days, and I wanted a larger container for kitchen use. I saw this medium-large container at a great price, and ordered. The container is airtight, and the snaps are snug and firm. The container is stainless steel, so easy to clean; the bin has rounded corners, so no seams to clean. It holds 15 pounds of rice or other similar material, and is very versatile--it could easily be used for storage of any dry item. What I really like is that it fits my shelves perfectly, looks great, and can be slid forward to easily dip out rice from the large opening. It also has a dessicant holder in the lid, to aid in moisture control. The bin is made of very high quality material, and is strong and durable. It looks great in my kitchen, and I am delighted with it, recommending it without hesitation. It would also be a great gift for anyone who needs a good container for dry food storage of any kind.

I have several similar bins made entirely of plastic that I store grains in. I imagined this stainless steel one would be heavier, but it isn't. It's fairly thin still. It seems well-made and seals tightly. The ability to add a desiccant pack, as well as the date function are plusses. I only wish they would find a way to make these types of containers more convenient in the sense that, while you can stack them, you cannot access what's inside without un-stacking them. I keep several kinds of dried grains, flours, and legumes on-hand, and I'd love to have a more convenient way to both store and use the contents without having to move things around. One last point--in American markets, most things you would want to store in these containers don't come in 15-pound bags. Usually it's 5 or 10 pound bags.
