I had to upgrade bits on my young sensitive mare with her western headstall, as she started to ignore my current bit when she felt like it. It has just enough leverage that she respects it more than my usual oval D-ring snaffle, but it is still a pretty soft bit, she is one of those mares that has no in between of not caring about anything and being pretty sensitive depending on her mood. She accepted and respected this bit without any issues, and she likes that she can play with the roller.
