Leaned back on it once, ONCE— and the backrest snapped and tilted to one side. the way the backrest connects to the seat is extremely flimsy, and thanks to leverage it doesn’t take much weight to make the edge of the metal rod punch through the plastic shell around it, and once that happens it’s useless as a backrest.I spent twice as much to get a throne with a backrest, so I’m pretty disappointed by the cheap construction

Sturdy and nice looking drum throne

So far so good. Seat and backrest are very comfortable and the hydraulics works great. I have purchased other thrones in this price range and was not happy with any of them. I was reluctant to buy this one but I thought, if I don't like it, I will return it. To my surprise it has impressed me. It is almost as comfortable as my Gibraltar (which is my go to throne besides my DW Airlift). Legs are a little stiff but, I will not be moving it that often. Great for practice studios, kids, beginners and advanced players. Not sure yet if I would rely on it to be my gigging throne but, only time will tell. Well worth the $.

I'm just a tad over 250 lb and this throne is excellent I don't think I really needed the back support but one thing that I really appreciate is I can be going hard for several sets and by the end of the night that drum thrown has not dropped down at all. It does have the gas shock so it allows for a little bit of bounce movement but it's very well calibrated so The rebound feels natural. As far as how warm the rear end gets while performing is a bit complicated It really depends on the venue. If you are in a well-ventilated temperature controlled facility For example an indoor venue absolutely no noticeable rear end heat that was increased due to the throne itself. I feel that this has also reduced fatigue as well. I absolutely do not mean to sound crude for this suggestion, I feel like there should be an optional throne cut so if you are of male genetics instead of having an increase in the throne a nice pocket of decrease would be off the chain straight up excellence because that is an area that with a lot of movement side to side face it percussion well it is labor intensive again depending on the venue. I feel this was worth every penny, I feel that the functionality has surpassed my expectations, just add an optional recessed area near the groin of a male genitalia in relation to the design of the throne please for the love of God please! Oh I almost forgot to mention for the people who have large muscular thighs the cut out design on this throne allows for very nice movement no numbness or tingling after many hours and like I said it's decreased fatigue.

First the good features. The throne is comfortable and very sturdy. The adjustable height works very well and I am a larger person near but not yet over the 300 lb capacity. It also looks good. The picture is on my porch for better lighting. However there might be some aluminum parts, but it seems heavier than my other two Gibraltar thrones. But the other great features more than out weigh the one knock.
