The kit covers the basics and that is about it. It comes with a needle drivers, forceps, tweezers, No.3 scalpel handle, scissors, and a carry case. The mat is run of the mill and gets the job done. It is nice to have the mesh to reduce the chance your suture will tear the silicone. The suture and scalpel blades are standard. They are sharp and perform decently.Overall, it is a basic kit for starters like myself. I have a few kits, and this one is down at the bottom. My biggest complaints were the tools. The needle driver was loose and struggled to lock. The scissors were also very stiff. So, it was difficult to keep a steady hand when removing sutures. If you need or want something to get started and don’t plan on keeping the tools, this kit will do the job. If you are planning to practice consistently, find a better kit or purchase the pieces individually. That way, you can assure the quality of each piece.

This suture practice kit is a decent option for medical students or anyone seeking basic practice. It comes with a complete set of tools, suture threads, and a practice pad with pre-cut wounds, which is helpful for structured learning. The pad is reusable and holds up reasonably well, though it’s not exactly like real skin—it’s good enough for basic technique and repetition, but don’t expect a super realistic feel. The tools included are functional, though a bit on the light side regarding quality. They’re fine for practice, just not professional grade. The kit is well organized and includes everything needed to start, making it useful for educational and demonstration purposes. It’s a reasonable set for the price, especially for beginners or students looking to supplement their coursework. This is a practical and affordable practice tool, but best suited for entry-level use rather than advanced or clinical simulation.

I bought this Suture Practice Kit for my niece who is currently studying to become a nurse, and she absolutely loves it! The kit comes with everything she needs to practice her suturing skills, including a durable suturing pad with various pre-cut wounds, a full set of tools, and plenty of suture threads. The quality of the pad is impressive — it feels realistic and holds up well after repeated use. This kit is perfect for medical and nursing students who want extra practice at home. It’s clearly labeled as for educational and demonstration use only, which is exactly what we needed. My niece says it’s helped her improve her technique and speed, and I’m glad I found something that supports her learning in such a practical way.

This Alcedo suture kit seems like a nice kit. It comes with a lot of helpful items to practice suturing. I'm not a medical professional, so my opinion is purely from a personal standpoint. I've been stocking up on supplies in case of a major disaster. It could be a while before first responders can get to us and it would be nice to know some basics in case the worst happens. Hopefully, it will never be necessary, but I figured it can't hurt to have on hand.

It is what it says it is: a practice kit. The keyword here is practice. The threads included note this, but they are also labeled sterile unless opened. The surgical instruments feel cheap but they work. I didn't have trouble with the locking forceps as someone else here pointed out. They are obviously NON-STERILE. For a real injury, the instruments need to be sterilized before contact with an opened wound. At first I didn't think there was a metal mesh in the practice skin, but it's there - it's just very hard to see and very flexible. For those curious about learning this skill in cases for non-professional use:Unless you are planning on going to school or getting professional training, I would advise against learning this skill on your own and instead learn about the use of steri-strips / skin glue adhesives and similar techniques. There are a variety of products and techniques available that accomplish most of what a minor suturing job would get you. Not only that, but realistically trying to suture someone up yourself in the wild or at home can be risky without antibiotics and local anesthetic. It will be very painful to do this without a local anesthetic!

The silicone pad in this kit is impressive—it feels close to real tissue and holds up well after multiple uses. The built-in mesh layer keeps the pad from tearing easily, even with repeated stitches. The tools feel professional and are easy to work with, especially for someone just starting out. This set makes it simple to practice different closures in a realistic way. A good option for both classroom use and personal study. It’s clear this kit was made with feedback from real students in mind.
