This set of ALIDE BR30 Full-Spectrum Grow Light Bulbs provide light with a pleasant natural white color for the eye, and good PAR for plants. Each bulb has an array of 48 LEDs, mostly 5000K white (n=36), mixed with a few blue (n=8) and even fewer red (n=4) LEDs. The light is advertised to have a max PPFD of 226 umol/m2/s, although there’s no corresponding distance reference. Using my quantum PAR meter, I measured an equivalent value of 225 umol/m2/s at a distance of 8-inches. Although 8-inches is about as close as I would normally place a grow light to a plant, these lights generate very little heat. So a distance of 8-inches would be completely acceptable. Of course, doing so will be at the expense of the effective core PAR coverage (i.e. the area that’s bathed with useful PAR). As is always the case, the type and number of plants involved will determine to what extent variables like PAR/PPFD and core PAR coverage need to be optimized. The BR30 grow lights use an E26 base that’s compatible with most light fixtures. I find that pendant lights are a really good option for this kind of grow light. The only drawback with pendant lights is that they require a stand or ceiling hook from which to suspend the fixture. Alternatively, a floor lamp with an adjustable light fixture will also work. Another consideration is whether to use the bulbs a singles, or in tandem. Because these are only 15W, I will likely use an E26 splitter so I can have a tandem arrangement, and thereby increase the total power to 30W. This will obviously boost the PAR output, and increase the core PAR coverage. Of course, whether to go single or tandem depends heavily on the application.Although this pair of BR30 grow light bulbs will provide sufficient PAR output for most plants, some of the information in the listing should be interpreted with care. For example, in one listing picture the grow bulb is shown being used at a distance of 16-20” for established, growing plants. At that distance, one of these bulbs would only provide 40-60 umol/m2/s (actual readings from my quantum PAR meter). And the fact is, that level of PAR may not be enough for some if not most plants. When I use these grow lights, I’ll likely select a distance that keeps the PPFD above 100 umol/m2/s. According to my quantum PAR meter, a PPFD reading of 100 umol/m2/s corresponds to a distance of 12-inches. Of course, all plants have their own unique light requirements. So before using any light source, including these BR30s, the owner should consult reference material for their specific application. At any rate, I really like these grow light bulbs from ALIDE. And at the current price of $19.18, that’s a pretty good deal for 30W of PAR. I definitely recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I ordered the candelabra set by mistake and didn’t have any lamps they would fit in. I finally found one neighbor who had a light fixture she let me borrow. I tried the lights out in it, and it worked. All the LEDS came on. Since I only had the light fixture for one night I can’t say what effect it had on plants. Just make sure you order the right size!

Works well for e26 bulbs. Uses a lot less power, and puts out a better light spectrum than other bulbs.

Good to change bulb light direction.

I've been trying to replace a lot of lights in my house with grow lights to accommodate the ridiculously large number of plants I have. It's been a little expensive , but the 2 pack for $14 is not badly priced. The lights are also pretty good lights

Shipped and received as expected.I've been transitioning my plants indoors for the winter and utilizing these bulbs in a standard E26 lamp fixture to facilitate their growth in the room. So far, everything is working as expected; my basil and cilantro seeds have started to sprout after about a week. I also tested a few poppy seeds that I stratified over the summer, and they are beginning to "pop up" as well, yay!The base of these bulbs does become very warm over several hours but I anticipated this.Yes, I recommend these bulbs.
