Although my Tourmaster and Olympia pants came with Level-1 knee protectors, neither fit my big knees that well. These Alpinestars Nucleon are both wider and longer than the Level-1 protectors that came with my pants. This armor is light and pliable, and they fit the adjustable knee pocket better than the stock armor. If you want Level-2 protection, the Flex Pro version is the same size. Although the Flex Plus is Level-1, these knee protectors feel like an upgrade.

Alpinestar nucleon pads are my favorite elbow protectors. For the knee application they were too floppy and when hung up on the wall the pads eventually sink into a floppy wad that needs to be realigned everytime you put your pants on. They are great while you are using them and they are in place but the inconvenience drove me to move them into a different jackets elbows the knee pads and elbow pads are also identical the knee pads just have a v cut on each side to make them bend a little easier and they are slightly larger. Don't use in pants. Absolutely use in elbows best there is in an elbow application.

I replaced my existing protection with these on a recent 3-week trip and found them very comfortable to wear. Much more so than previous knee guards I've purchased.

Tossed the foam pads my riding jeans came with. They were bulky and stiff. These are much more flexible, thinner, and way more comfortable.
