It works perfectly.. I installed on the passenger side front door on a F150 2013 4 door truck using 1/4" x 7" x 7" plate cutting slots to adjust the in and out. Also installed gusset from center of plate to frame. It holds a 350lb individual with no issues.

No where does it say that these don't work with the factory rails my Longhorn has. Neeed a step to get to the side bed for coupling my fifth wheel,this didn't fit the bill. Directions sucked, i have the amp step for rear of truck,that is great, side step sucks.

I purchased the AMP rear bumper step and side step at the same time for my 2016' RAM 3500HD, 6.4L Hemi, Crew Cab, 6.5' bed, truck. I installed the rear bumper step first and it installed very easily using stock factory holes in the trucks frame. Next I installed the side step on the drivers side and it required drilling holes into the trucks bed frame and some slight modifications to the beds cross brace in order to get the step to fit. Overall I'm very happy with both steps but just be forewarned that the side step is a good bit harder to install and requires more work and patience.

I originally purchased the competitors brand step and it was supposed to be a no drill application but don't be fooled it was a pain and I ended up sending it back and purchased the AMP research. The AMP research was simple to install and much higher quality.

Not worth the money, mounts to close to the cab and totally defeats the purpose of using it on the side. The one that mounts on the back of your truck well worth it.

I installed this in my 2016 Ram 2500 with a 6.7 Cummins diesel 6.5' bed. Since this is made to work on both sides, you HAVE to get all three of the main mounting pieces in the exact order they mount in for the side you are working on. Also, the diesel trucks have two lines for the DEF fluid on the driver side that is in the way of where the bracket mounts. But they are relatively soft and move out of the way fairly easily. So, I used a zip tie to pull the smaller line towards the larger line. I also had some wire harness covering lying around and used a couple of small pieces I put on the bracket and line to help protect it from being worn through (see pics).Another somewhat annoying issue is when the step bracket is retracted, it rests up against the trailing arm bracket and makes a loud bang when retracting it. Not a huge deal, but I may glue a piece of foam up against the bracket to at least subdue the bang when I retract it. But the product works as advertised. I also have a rear Bed Step as well as Amp Powersteps and like the other pieces, this a high quality item and still gets 5 stars even with the relatively minor issues and I will eventually get one for the passenger side.Edit: I deducted 1 star from my original 5 stars because after having this a while I really wish this was a bit wider, and further rearward. It is a little awkward to get into my tool box because it is so far forward. They could have made it a couple inches wider and towards the rear of the truck as it would have made a world of difference. But I am a lefty, so naturally want to use my left hand to get into the box but cannot very easily with the tool box lid in the way. When I get one for the other side, it probably won't be as bad as it will be easier to get into it with my left hand. Making it wider would be nicer to be able to put both feet on it comfortably as well.

Works great so far. Template holes did not match the mounting bracket, which was a pain, but after adjusting for that, it mounted as expected in a tight space. Having it sure makes a positive difference.
