First, let me say that this is the only hardness detector I've ever purchased. That being said, I can't necessarily weigh this based against other products.What I can say is that from my experience this has been the perfect product. It comes in its own carrying case, which I've learned is very convenient. So far the detection rate seems pretty spot on. It's easy to carry, easy to use, easy to read. I have zero complaints.

The instructions are unclear. It would be nice to have a reference chart for what the relative hardness is in the different scales it measures. Setting up the stand-up bracket is difficult without breaking it.
