I have the 5/2.5/1Gbps USB-C adapter version with the attached USB-C cable and C-to-A adapter, and it works with a Windows PC. It properly clocked down to both 2.5Gb and 1Gb, so it retains good backward-compatibility. It says it can do 100Mbps, though I didn't try forcing that option in the network settings window. There is now a 10Gb version with detachable cable, though I don't have one of those to compare.

I am using this adapter to hard wire my MacBook. So I am using the c to c cord. So far it has worked well for my meetings and classes to keep a consistent connection. No lags or skips. Seems to work at the speed of my system. Haven’t felt it getting hot or anything out of norm. Works well!

This is a good option for those looking for Ethernet connectivity on a laptop that doesn't have it. The performance you end up achieving depends on a number of key factors:- Is the switch port rated for the desired line rate? 1Gbps or "multi-GigE" (2.5, 5 or 10Gbps).- Is the switching (and/or routing if using IP) path to the remote machine capable of the desired line rate?- Is the USB port you're connecting too capable of handling the bit rates? Keep in mind that USB2.0, can only deliver 480Mbps of combined bandwidth per host bus controller.- Is the computer this adapter is connected to capable of handling the large number of USB URB requests when handling large amounts of traffic? What about the remote end?If all of the above is good to go, this adapter's Realtek chip will deliver solid results, but it will get warm to the touch under load.I hope this review helps you make an informed purchasing decision!

This is a really nice piece of kit that works very well at least with Windows -- I haven't tried it with Linux or any other operating system yet. It is based on a Realtek 5 Gb/s chip, and while I cannot test it at that speed, it holds up very well at 2.5 Gb/s. I've been able to use it with a laptop, both with a USB-A and USB-C port, for hours in a row without any loss of connectivity or any other issues. The only minor problem is that it runs a bit hot to the touch when in heavy use. This is not uncommon with metal-cased USB devices but it's still a bit off-putting and might make using it on one actual's lap slightly uncomfortable. Still, a very nice and portable addition to any laptop bag, and one of the best adapters I've been able to find, especially considering most USB-C hubs or similar are restricted to much slower speeds.

The ANYOYO Thunderbolt 4 10G Ethernet Adapter works well to bump up my networking speed on my computer. I ended up connecting it to my docking station to improve the speed of the include 1G network connection I already had in place. It does get a little warm and that might bother me if I was plugging it in direct to my laptop, but since it is connected to the docking station it is not a big deal. Overall, I'm happy with the adapter and, as of right now, I do not believe the heat will cause an early failure on the adapter.

My latest laptop is very slim and do not feature a port for ethernet, so this Ethernet Adapter is so very welcome for facilitating the faster transmission speeds of wired connections to the router and to my printer. This adapter is an essential device for increased productivity.

The adapter has a nice braided built in cable that is USB-C with an attachable USB-A plug adapter, which is convenient when working with older desktops and laptops without USB-C. I have xfinity gigabit plan and I usually get around 800Mb on my desktop while wired in. With this adapter, I get about 768Mb, so pretty close to what I would get with a straight ethernet wired in the ethernet port. I tried it with my gaming laptop and iPad Pro 12.9 and it worked plug-n-play without problems. I did notice this adapter getting hot when I game for hours, but I did not notice any lag in the game due to the adapter warming up. However, it does bring some concerns with the longevity of adapter in the future from heating up all the time during long hour use. But if I need an ethernet to connect an iPad or laptops with no ethernet ports, this adapter will be handy for short term use.

When I first opened this adapter, I was impressed. I liked the beveled/rounded edges, feels like the case and the cable are made of good materials. Once I got it connected (more about that below), I liked the lights showing the connection speed.Once concern that did surface pretty quickly was with the dongle that connects the USB adapter. It is quite stiff, which means (based on past experience) that it probably won’t be durable. It also gets in the way of other cables and adapters connected to adjacent ports. The main thing that made me rate this a 3 is that it took 2-3x as long to get it to connect when I plugged in an Ethernet cable as compared to other connections. I did it both with USB and USB-C on 2 different laptops, and it took longer for it to connect with Windows than with both of those than with other approaches. For example, I took the same Ethernet cable and connected it through a docking station connected to one laptop via USB-C, which worked fine and connected much more quickly. I then tried connecting the same cable directly to a second laptop, got the same quicker result.Once connected, the speed and connection stability were quite good, so I'll keep the adapter as a "just in case", but it won't be my first choice.
