Over the years, I’ve assembled a lot of flat-pack furniture. Usually my husband and I do it together, but sometimes I have done the assembly on my own. My overall impression of assembling furniture is that it's never easy and that it doesn't ever seem to get easier. Putting together most furniture is a tedious chore. Even when it goes well, it's still a pain.I assembled this AODK L-SHAPED COMPUTER DESK by myself. The directions do tell you that it will go a lot better with two people. One of the reasons I ordered this particular desk, even though I know desks are among the most difficult furniture to assemble, had to do with the type of drawers it has. The difficulty usually has to do with all the drawer slides that need to get installed on a multi-drawer desk. This doesn't have wood drawers; it has fabric drawers. Fabric drawers don't require drawer slides. The assembly did go easier because of it, and the drawers seem to be pretty sturdy and perfect for a desk being used for a sewing table.The assembly directions were written in plain, understandable English with good, easy-to-follow graphics, and all the parts were included. That is a real biggie in the world of flat-pack furniture. It can save a lot of frustration. The assembly was mostly straightforward, but it was tedious because of the many hex bolts.There were very few screws, but that's where I made my big mistake. I put a screw right through the desktop, so my brand new desk has a hole in the top of it now. This was totally my fault and not the fault of the product. I didn't understand the purpose of the few included screws or what their final function would be, or how shallowly they needed to be set. I used to screw a gun, even though I knew better, on the one that I drove through the desktop. A screw gun is too aggressive for the shallow depth the screws required. Please learn from my mistake and put the screws in with the included tool only.The assembled desk is nice, and if it wasn't for the hole in the top of it, I would probably forget about the hassle of putting it together within a couple of weeks of using it. Unfortunately I'm going to have a constant reminder that I will try to hide with my sewing machine.One particularly nice thing about this desk is the included power supply on the edge of the desktop, which offers you a convenient place to plug in up to 3 AC devices. And it's a nice touch that there is also a place to plug in power cords for two USB devices. You will probably use this mounted power supply even more than you think you will. We have a similar one mounted on an end table in our living room. We use it constantly for both AC and USB power. It's nice not to have to get down and look behind furniture to find a place to plug something in.In conclusion, this is a reasonably priced desk that will make a great sewing table for me. Do not use a screw gun when putting this desk together. Learn from my mistake. Unless you just order a straight table to use as a desk, this is probably as close as you can get to an easier desk assembly. Just remember, easier doesn't mean easy. It took me a few hours.

The instructions recommend having two people assemble this desk, but I did it by myself and managed just fine. It may have gone a bit faster with a second person, but rest assured, if you're doing it by yourself, you'll be fine. You also don't need to assemble a bunch of tedious to drawers because these are fabric drawers that are very simple to assemble. This took me over two hours to assemble, but for the price, you have a great, versatile desk. At the time of this review, the price is $79.99 and that's an excellent value. You can make the L shape on either the left or the right, and I appreciate that it has a built in power strip with both regular and USB ports. The other thing I like about this desk is that if you need a lot of under desk space, this has a ton of it. My husband is an IT guy and he's using this for several computers. We put a short platform under the desk just a few inches off the ground to keep the computers off the floor, and he has lined up several computer towers under the desk. This desk, with all the open space underneath, is perfect for that. Is this the most high quality desk, no. But for the price, it's a very good option to get a versatile desk that looks decent and gives you the workspace you need.

The build quality is nice and sturdy, it took me like 4 hours but I was dumb when I was building it, the only thing I struggled with was putting the top of the desk where the drawers are. But the whole thing came out good and an awesome desk!!

This is a sturdy desk that is well made and the perfect size for my space. It functions exactly as advertised and I'm quite happy with it. It was relatively easy to put together. If you've done any furniture like this, it's really no different. Overall, I'm enjoying the desk and have no complaints.

I had been looking for a desk that was compact yet was big enough to fit my computer, monitor and leave some workspace. This desk worked great. It went together quickly and easily. It has three drawers and a shelf for storage but doesn't take over the room. The return gives me plenty of room for working.
