Get this and you can use your collapsed armrest again. I don't have a rivet gun at home so I drove my truck to work and installed it on one of my breaks

I added a little padding first as mine was gone then installed this perfect fit and my armrest is an arm rest again

My armrest is smaller than this, it looks sturdy and I was hoping it would work. But it doesnt fit in the underside of my armrest. Maybe the wrong part was in the box??

Mine came in today and I went right to fitting it and painting it black before installing it. If you don't care about the color of it, you can skip any steps to change the looks of it. Otherwise, it is a raw piece of metal cut and bent you fit the underside of your armrest lid and super simple to install. If everything checks out to you and you don't feel like painting or adding fabric to it, all you do is push it down in firmly and drill your holes, pop the rivets in and your done. I did feel like tweaking it just a hair, to make it fit just the way I wanted. I felt the two outer bends were not sharp enough. Even that was super easy, with the help of my vise. It was very affordable and Amazon shipped it fast. Buying a new lid would look the best but much more expensive. This solution is stronger though.

A fix for a common problem on older S10/Sonoma trucks.Good price, could have fashioned my own, but this fit perfectly and is thick & strong. Before riveting in place, I cut & installed some firm padding to make the armrest nice & cushy.

This was a simple install. I used some lower grade foam from another project and it went together fine. I also didn’t use the rivets I used screws on one side I predrilled for and bolts and nuts leftover from a grill project. Very happy so far it looks good and more importantly my elbow is resting on padding.

Followed the directions to the letter and the result was an excellent installation. Under the armrest, the plastic support cracked and some pieces were found in the console, so I arranged them puzzle fashion on the underside of the lid, then affixed them together with Gorilla Tape (essentially super duct tape) that is available on Amazon. I used the rivets for a finished look although the directions say that self tapping screws can be substituted if a rivet gun is not available. The console in my S10 is now virtually like new and has the nice crown that it originally had. I used a standard drill motor and drill bit. Although it was drilled on a slight angle due to the concave shape of the lid, rivets are forgiving enough to hold so as long as the proper drill bit size is selected.
