Like many, our budget is pretty stretched. I needed to get my work truck back on the road, and these tie rods were a quick and affordable option. The installation was easy, and the shop reported no issues getting the truck back into alignment. "Hoss," our old GMC Sierra 2500HD, is now faithfully back at work, towing heavy loads in four-wheel drive. After 3,500 miles of rough, washboard dirt roads, the steering remains good and tight. For a truck with a gas engine that is primarily used on pavement, these tie rods seem like a good long-term option based on their performance so far. For heavier trucks (2500HD and up), they are a solid short-term option. The GMT-800 chassis has a history of problematic OEM tie rod failure, especially on heavier trucks. The thinner OEM style is more prone to failure under severe road conditions, heavy loads, and towing. This is the only reason for the -1 star rating.Overall, these are a budget friendly option and recommend these for folks.
