Can’t beat Astro when it comes to price and quality. This thing worked great on removing a harmonic balancer from a Ford 6.8L engine. Saved a lot of money compared to the tool truck and it’s just as good as anything they sell or better.

For the price, I am very impressed with the quality and amount of different bolts and configurations that this harmonic balancer puller supports. If you're doing a timing belt change on a 1MZ-FE or 3MZ-FE engine, this is the correct tool you need to pull the harmonic balancer. It does not damaged the harmonic balancer unlike other tools that grab onto it, instead of using bolts. This tool has worked fantastically for me and was well worth the cost over cheaper sets.

This is a great Harmonic Balancer Puller set. I used this on my Toyota Tacoma 3.4l 5vzfe harmonic balancer when i did my timing belt, water pump, timing belt tensioner, crank and cam seals, t-stat, upper and lower idler pulleys and belts. It worked flawlessly. Also used this to pull the timing belt/crank gear (loacated behind the harmonic balancer). You use the same threaded center pin against the crankshaft (where bolt threads in), but you have to use M6 bolts (2.5"-3" in length) to thread into the gear. By the way i used additional washers and bolts to shim the M6 bolts to the Hamonic Balancer puller, as the head on the bolts will just slide through the tools grooves. After you thread the M6 bolts to the gear, slighty turn the puller's center bolt by hand and the gear will just slide off. If it doesnt slide off, spray some PB blaster/penetrating oil and let it sit for 5min and try again it will just slide off allowing you access to the crank seal for replacement. If you use this puller DO NOT USE A IMPACT of any kind on this, you will damage the threads to the the puller and you will mushroom/bend the threaded puller face plate. That why these reviews of it mushrooming or bending are happening, DO NOT USE AN IMPACT WRENCH!!! Also, if your harmonic balancer is stuck, spray it and the crankshaft with penetrating oil, let it sit for 5min then try the puller again. This is puller is meant to be used by hand only, not with a IMPACTWRENCH, impact driver, impact ratchet, breaker bar etc etc. Your balancer is held on with a center bolt (19mm), once the bolt is removed thats it. Its either got some corrosion/rust holding it on. Just use the long/short center pulling bolt and any of the other bolts provided in the puller set for the grooves in the harmonic balancer, and thread into you harmonic balancers pulling bolt holes.*Update, I am not a seller, retailer or have any affiliation with Amazon or Astro Pneumatic. I have read review on here saying that "some" reviews are FAKE. Nothing directly pointed at me, but I feel that I should let anyone know that my review is not fake whatsoever. I wrote an extensive review on my use this harmonic balancer puller kit that I used on my 1999 Tacoma Prerunner 3.4l. 5VZFE. DO NOT USE A IMPACT WRENCH, OR A PNEUMATIC RATCHET, ELECTRIC RATCHET ETC. Use a ratchet or a wrench when using this puller! Also, before pulling your harmonic balancer or crankshaft pulley (located behind harmonic balancer on 5VZFE 3.4L) spray both with penetrating oil FIRST, let soak and then use the puller. If you use and pneumatic tools, impact wrench etc you WILL mushroom this puller and snap the bolts. I had no troubles with this puller whatsoever and would buy it again if I had to. It saved me time and money. If you use a impact wrench or any pneumatic tools with this puller and it snaps, mushrooms etc, that on YOU for being dumb and impatient.- Josh McSweeney

Just received my puller 2 days after placing my order .Very fast.Everything came exactly as described and in excellent condition. Nice blue ,organized case and for those of you wondering where the tool is made,I am happy to say its made in Taiwan! not in China. Very happy with my purchase.

looks to be a good kit but that being said i haven't given it rusty part yet to pull only a simple 60 year old steering wheel. No where on it could I find a country of origin (I am guessing it is Chinese by the price and the no idea where it is made) but it looks like a nice kit and worth the extra cash over the cheezy 15 dollar kit at Harbor Freight Tools. The case is the best part of this kit. it has a real hinge and separate clasps so there should never be an issue of losing parts due to a broken box.the main body of the puller is very thick and heavy and shouldn't bend or strip under severe use.

I was in need of a puller to remove the crankshaft pulley from my Case 1835 Skid Steer so that I could time the injector pump. My first stop was the local Snap on Truck, if I needed this tool for everyday use to make my living then I would pay Snap On $225.00. Instead I bought this high quality set and used it without fail. Good quality at an affordable price.

I have used the set multiple times to remove the steering wheel from my cars. It worked every time and never let me down. Also surprisingly I was able to use it when it was time to replace the timing belt (on both of my cars: Toyota, Mitsubishi). There is no way I could remove the belt pulley without this thing. Due two a good set of bolts and adapters the set can be used for multiple applications. The only recommendation I have is to lubricate it with high quality grease. It will make it easier to use as well as protect it from rust (if you live in a humid state).

I bought this puller to remove a steering wheel and to do other jobs later as required. Unfortunately the slots in the puller do not extend close enough for my application (I did manage to make it work).Other than that this is a very comprehensive puller set with a wide variety of bolts and accessories. Build quality seems good for the price but certainly not a hundred plus dollar puller. Great storage case is a plus. It should serve me well for home hobbyist car restoration work. Amazon was a hassle free bargain shopping venue and shipping time was reasonable, about a week for my location.
