It works and does the job. But it is heavy and the design, materials and workmanship are marginal.

Nice and simple device. Works very well. Nothing there to break. They only thing I found annoying was where it mounts and attaches to. It seems like I could never get it to tighten properly.

Sort of cheep but does the job. Felt very rough when turned until I sprayed WD40 into the pump then it was ok. Pumps ok and no leaks so have to say it does the job.

Got this for pumping gas out of a 55 gallon drum. Works as expected. Good value. Would have liked to be able to connect a garden hose, though I see another buyer attached a rubber hose with a hose clamp (great idea).

This pump came with no instructions or information of any type. (Kind of like buying it out of a garage sale.) I guessed on how it ought to go together, took it to the barrel I wanted to pump and it would not pump. No mechanism to prime it and it wouldn't pull water out of a 55gal barrel. Lack of instructions is not a big deal...if it worked straight out of the box. Going to look for something better.

I bought this to transfer gas from portable cans. It worked great for about 20 gallons and then began to leak like a sieve. The description says don't use naptha and solvents, but it doesn't mention gasoline.Later, I took it apart and found that the shaft seal was dissolving. Also, the pump was VERY roughly made, with large machining grooves and casting marks everywhere. Typical third-world production junk. The shaft has coarse machining grooves (turning marks) right where the seal rides, so even a decent gas-tolerant seal will get chewed up in short order.I'm well past the return deadline, so I will now have to polish the drive-shaft and replace the seal with a gas-tolerant one. Then we'll see what else breaks.

Works as advertised--better, actually, as it pumps faster than 5 gpm. Assembles easily, fits and works in 35 and 55 gal barrels. A true bargain at the price.

This pump replaced one that I use in the barn for diesel fuel. All metal construction and works very well indeed. I looked around the net and local stores but this was the very best price I could find. I thought it may be difficult to crank but that is not the case at all. In fact it is so easy to crank I thought it was not delivering fuel. Worth every penny and shipping was very fast. jg

The pump works great for diesel fuel. Easy to pump and good flow. Not quite so good for hydraulic fluid. All of the pump is cast iron including the handle. If you over-tighten the set screw when assembling you won't just strip the threads you will crack the handle. Also while the pump may be used on smaller than 55 gallon drums, the bung connector on the pump will not slide down over the first connection on the inlet pipe so you cannot attach the pump to smaller drums such as 15 gallon or 5 gallon. You just have to hold the pump with one hand while you crank with the other. You must also furnish your own outlet hose and attach with a hose clamp.
