This is a good basic kit with "most" things needed to overhaul your 1997 thru 2003 4L60E GM trans. It does not include the 3 steel bonded seal pistons (3/4, fwd, overrun), the 2/4 band, or any solenoids and such. My kit did come with a HEG "high energy graphite" friction and steel module for all clutches part number 57751G which was a surprise. No tan clutches, these are better for sure! The other half of the kit is the Overhaul "gaskets seals" kit part no. 750184 which was pretty typical and had most stuff needed including the low/Rev piston lip seals, a new servo release and tcc regulator springs, new check balls, and 2 sets of valve body gaskets. Has cheap cork pan gasket and was missing the input converter hub seal (only the output was.included). You will need to buy a few extras but this is a great and affordable start. Those HEG clutch fractions are a high performance material and can handle alot of abuse!!

High quality frictions and seals. Remember to check for sloppy accumulator pins and pistons, check the 3rd check ball capsule and replace if it leaks into the case (video's on YouTube) check your boost valve for slop. You can buy five gear planetary upgrades for around 50 dollars each from Bishop International auto parts in Dallas. They only sell top notch used parts.I would suggest that you ask ATP for a set of molded clutch pistons and spring for the forward drum, you'll be happy you did. The springs for the TCC valve and the 3-4 shift solenoid valve make sense but there are better options on the the TCC valve than just a lock off spring. The lock off spring turns you pulse width modulator off and makes the circuit on off like on the 700r4 which is better than the grandma shift quality of the PWM controled torque converter lockup on the 4l60e. The TCC valve just depends on if it has bleed by. There are valves with o-rings that won't bleed by. You have the valve body apart easy to check and base your choice on wear. Good luck. Be sure you check your separator plate and if you have a stuck ball, or degraded plate smooth any sharp edges and replace the check balls with the plastic check balls that will not beat a hole and get stuck in the plate. ATP will probably be able to hook you up.Thanks!
