Your cart is empty.ATP Z-429 Automatic Transmission Flex Plate is designed to connect the engine and transmission. Most flex plates are made of a thick piece of sheet metal with bolt-holes for the torque converter and teeth for the starter. The job of a flex plate is to allow for expansion of the torque converter as engine RPM increases. The constant expansion and contraction of a flex plate over time can result cracks and/or shearing of the flex plate. A damaged flex plate can create serious (expensive) damage. Broken flex plates cannot be repaired; they must be replaced. ATP flex plates are made of high quality steel and contain the correct bolt hole spacing and ring gear teeth just like the original part to ensure long life and durability. ATP part number Z-429 is engineered to replace the original equipment for 1986-1988 4Runner 2.4L; 1991-1997 Previa; 1994-1998 T100 2.7L; 1995-1998 Tacoma 2.4L and 2.7L models.

As a ASE master certified transmission tech for the last 20 years. I've replaced hundreds of flex plates. I torqued this one perfectly, a week later my customer (also my friend) returned with it snapped all around the bolt holes and near the tcc mount bolts. I wish I could get my money back. Got a dealer one... problem solved. Super bummed

after months I've finally been able to take the transmission out of my truck to do the swap and this flex plate will not fit.the center bore is to small to slide on the crankshaft. :(

This DOES NOT FIT 1986-88 4Runner or any other 2.4 engine, I tried it on 6 2.4 engines I have and 3 2.4 crankshafts, bolt holes DO NOT line up! Also does not match torque convertor, torque convertor bolt spacing is 9 inches, this flex plate bolt spacing is 9 1/2 inches.The correct flex plate is ATP Z-427, which is for pickup. It is also one third to one half the price of the generic, universal, fits nothing I own, ATP Z-429!!
