I always love a good technical read. However, if you are working on an older, non-lockup torqueflite and aren't very adept with valve bodies, you may have to think a little harder then normal. Otherwise, excellent technical manual.

Just as good as any ATSG book. For whatever reason it kinda covers specs for transmissions on 225,318, and 360. No specs for previous big block applications. But a good transmission book overall

Good technical manual but I was expecting or wanting a more step by step of how to do it since this is the first time for me.

The book is very good but needs specs for clearances and what the tolerance shoould be and should not.Could be more indepth and more info for the modification of the tranny, and for shift kits.

It's a good reference manual but doesn't cover many variations of this transmission. Most manuals do not cover every possible variation of the 727 however. It is also not incredibly detailed but still a great reference to support other manuals. I have three manuals for this transmission, including this one, and during the repair (where I disassembled over 50% of the transmission) I found myself using all three.
