Bulky, no instructions.I'm very disappointed that not even a small manual was provided and there are no documentation online.I couldn't figure out how to use the pieces that came with packaging -- no very intuitive.

This bass pickup/preamp really has a great sound, but for some reason Barcus Berry tried to also make the preamp compatible with electret microphones and they may have neglected to remove the resistor on the circuit board that sends bias voltage to the electret. So if you happen to get one of these that has a hissing sound and low volume, that is the problem. It can easily be fixed by simply opening the box and locating the marked resistor and cutting one lead. Makes a huge difference. The volume, bass and treble controls are nice to have.
