The artwork is lovely. Very deep soft colors. The animals fur looks almost 3D. I can see a young child wanting to touch them. There is a heartwarming poem on one of the first pages. Pockets for storing pictures and momentos. Hard cover with some gold embossing. Book fits in a hard sleeve for storing on a shelf or bookcase. Comes with a gift bag, ribbon and notecard/envelope. Priced reasonably well for gift giving. I got 'Baby Muslin Swaddle Blanket for Boys & Girls- 47x47 Inch, Nursery Receiving Blanket for Newborn' with this. I wrapped the book up in the blanket as a substitute for tissue paper. Just fit, the colors are very complimentary. This would definitely get some oohs and aahs at a baby shower.

The exterior box has a band of pretty printed heavy cardstock or light cardboard holding it closed. Inside is a clear bag holding the book inside of a drawer style box for storage on top of a pull ribbon to help you get it out. Next is a pretty gift bag just the right size and a matching ribbon. The book is further sealed by a band of tissue paper. I couldn’t get it off without tearing it and this is a gift but based on what I’ve seen so far I’m pretty sure the pages of the book are even better than the pictures on the description page because everything else so far has been. I chose this book because the description showed pretty pages with plenty of room for photos and the new mom is a professional photographer. It also has pages with envelopes and pockets for keepsakes and ephemera. This book is similar to but a step up from one that was on her registry. It has prompts for recording many milestones for the first five years. There are over 100 pages in a sage green and gold decorated with lovely animals, very gender neutral. The description brags that it’s set up so that it just takes about five minutes per week to keep it current. That remains to be seen, I’ve seen very few baby books that were actually completed.At the time of this review the price is $35 which seemed high at first. However after comparing it to other books that are similar but not nearly as nice I now feel the price is reasonable for the quality of the item you receive. I highly recommend!!!

I've detailed why below, but I think the video & pics better illustrate my words, although pics don't do this high-quality baby book gift set justice. 🤩BYPArinternational (New Mexico, USA & China) has created an heirloom quality, gender neutral baby book that any parent would be happy to receive for their new addition!It comes with a high quality, sturdy gift bag with sturdy & nice 3/8" thick gold cording handles. The book itself comes wrapped in a layer of branded tissue paper & seal sticker (would be nice if this was separate instead of taped around book [buyers want to inspect merchandise before gifting]). The elegantly gold foil designed box & book covers are clad in fairly dense cardboard: sturdy, and stores within a shelf box, along with a ribbon pull-tab that makes removing it easy (both on the outside edge of box & within it to lift the book from the box). These features ensures the book is protected for years to come, and adds to the durability of it being repeatedly removed for journaling & review. The pages are indeed thick, durable archive-quality paper, and each chapter opens with heavier card stock/watercolor textured paper that has a tasteful "animal baby" illustration, and is a 9"w x 9.25"t pocket for keepsakes (small, such as hair locks, etc). This pocket is durable & will put up with the added 3-D treasures. All pages are heavy enough that they will last w/o fading or disintegrating. The binding is a 1" dia. brass quality spiral, with openings in the back available to add/remove pages: standard spiral binding equipment will open this book's binding & punch pages to add (6mm wide punched holes, w/7mm between holes, 5mm wide spirals w/8mm between them, first/last punches are exactly 9mm from edge of page). There really is a LOT of space to write, journal, sketch & color, and even scrapbook if you'd like. I also appreciate the illustrations are all well done, in color tones that get your attention (in an attractive, non-garish way), and are elegantly coordinated together.There is so much more I can say that's great about it... The only (very minor) con I can see is the book's "lift" ribbon from inside the box: a lightweight glue secures it to the box & a glossy sheet of magazine-type paper- which isn't very secure, and if it is pulled out towards the right instead of lifted straight up (just far enough to tilt the right side of the book high enough to slide your fingers beneath) the ribbon may pull apart from the box, then the box will have to be completely removed from shelf protector & heavy book tipped out (fits too tight to get fingers into box). See pic. However, this can be secured again using appropriate glue or staples, then paper glued back down over it. This is such a minor thing that when stacking it in comparison to all the "wow" factor details, I'm not allowing this 1 con affect my score.This baby book will answer your gift needs without worry! This is such a lovely memory book! I like the look of it. It’s so pretty and nicely designed. I also like that it comes in a pretty matching storage box and the gift bag is so pretty too. So if you’re getting this as a gift, it’s ready to give. It has places to record memories, keep tiny keepsakes, add photos, and more. This will make a great baby shower gift or for a new parent. It’s a lovely memory book to keep for many years!

This baby book, Tales of You, is a wonderful gift for new parents. It is a high quality well made book to keep track of baby's firsts as he or she grows. The cover print is shiny metallic gold, the pages are thick, the illustrations beautifully done and the typefaces elegant and classic. This isn't a bright cutesy book, it is more sophisticated with muted earth tone colors. There are pockets to add mementos and places to add photos, first drawings etc. I do wish the cover was not so busy and more in the color family of the illustrations but this is a lovely book that will be cherished.
