I have bought many foam brushes; the price and quality of the Bates- Foam Paint Brushes and its assortment of different sizes is just right! I would order them again in a heartbeat.

I needed foam brushes for staining and the price at my local Big Blue Home center was way too high for a single brush so I checked on Amazon and found the Bates brushes for considerably less money.The brushes arrived in a box but, when I opened it I found several of the foam tips were deformed, which is why I deducted one star from the rating. Since I was using an oil-based stain there was no way to clean them in solvent without destroying them. But, they could be cleaned and reused if using a water-based paint or stain/polyurethane product.

I really like these sponge brushes. They have a sturdy feel and texture, and they’re not super ‘spongy’ which makes it easier to evenly distribute the paint, in my opinion. The foam seems denser than other foams I’ve used, so hopefully they won’t fray as easily at the tops over time. They also arrived neatly packed in a box, which is nice for storing away. Great value!

When you come across a smudge on the wall that wont wipe off these sponge brushes are great to have on hand. Dip in the paint fix the smudge and toss the sponge brush away.
