It works, quickly and easily. It’s fast. It’s accurate. I even trust it on counterfeit detection. You don’t have to sort into one denomination at a time. And you have the option to connect a printer for reports if that’s needed. I wish we’d had this many years ago; it would have saved us immeasurable time. Watch the video demonstration— it really is that quick and painless. I thought these things were thousands of dollars and not for consumer use. I was very wrong.Update after more extensive use: I left mine set on auto— you stick the pile on it and it goes. You don’t have to have your money all in one direction. It doesn’t care. It doesn’t like bills that are very worn and faded in the middle. But when it beeps and stops, if you remove the top bill from what it’s counted and spit out and set it aside, you can recount all the ones it was happy with and manually mentally add back in any “rejects”, which include ones that people have written on. It auto restarts when you remove what it’s already counted (all of them, but set aside the problem one, which is the one on top.) It does fine with old style money, too, if you remember back to when bills had the pictures centered vs off-center. All in all this machine kicks butt. I still swear it’s better than my bank’s.

This machine is so much better than the basic bill counter I was using before. It even handles bundles of brand new one dollar bills with little to no difficulty. It can be a little picky with 100 dollar bills and bills that are crumpled or damaged, but overall I am satisfied with its performance.

This bill counter seems to be able to do a lot, and probably a lot more than most people need. For example, it can deal with mixed currencies. I can't imagine that many people need to be able to count large quantities of money in different currencies at the same time. This counter seems to work best in the "Count" mode, which is the mode where the counter is simply counting the number of bills, and not trying to read them. In this mode, the counter seems to work flawlessly. The issues I have experienced are in the modes when the counter is trying to read the bills. Those modes are the "Sort" mode and the "Mixed Denomination" mode. In both of these modes, the machine comes up with error messages on many bills that it should be able to be read. I don't know if it is because the bill is not perfect or if it is something else, but it is frustrating that the machine doesn't work better in these modes.I tried to access the settings to change the sensitivity, but the manual doesn't explain what the sensitivity settings mean, so I had to experiment. I adjusted the sensitivity sessions in both directions, and neither seemed to improve the error message rate on bills that look good.I like that you can decide if you want the bill counter to start counting whenever bills are placed into it, or to wait until you hit the start button. I can see uses for both modes, and having the flexibility to not have it always start counting automatically is great. I also like the fact that in "Mixed Denomination" mode, when the unit doesn't error on a bill, it gives you a total value of all the money counted, and if you press the report button you can see how many bills of each denomination were included. There is also an optional external display, that you can connect to the machine and use to display the details to, say, a customer who is not in position to see the screen on the unit. The unit can count at various speeds. In the modes where it needs to read the bills, there are only two speeds possible - 800 bills per minute and 1000 bills per minute. In the "Count" mode, however, 1200 bills per minute and even 1500 bills per minute are possible. The only other negative I have encountered involves the protective film that was used to protect the screen and the external display. Both pieces of film were very difficult to get off, to the point where I feared I would actually damage the screen trying to get off the film that was supposed to protect it. I wound up breaking a "permanent" toothpick that was part of a Swiss army knife that I have had for decades just trying to remove the last pieces of that film that were stuck in the crevices of the device. I'm actually pretty unhappy about that, and almost rated this bill counter three stars because of that, but decided that this was trivial, so I am still rating it four stars. I urge caution in trying to remove that protective film.Overall, I am pleased with this bill counter.
