Item is as advertised, size and material. Front and back are sanded smooth, sides have saw marks. Wood is easy to carve. I really enjoy carving spoons and giving them to family, friends and at church

Mein erster Schnitzversuch und ich bin begeistert! Tolles Stück Holz, leicht zu bearbeiten. Man muß beim Schnitzen nur die Faserrichtung beachten. Ist aber bei jedem anderen Holz auch der Fall.

This soft basswood spoon blank is the first one I have ever used along my spoon carving journey. There is a LOT of material to work with, you could carve a very deep spoon from this if you wanted. If trying to make a more traditional wooden spoon for cooking etc, you will need to remove a lot of material. Mine had a pretty gnarly knot at the end which has been very tricky to carve around, but adds an interesting visual!

I got two as part of a give away.They are thick enough to cut them in half and get two per blank.The wood carves and sands well. Great for just trying new things, learning, or just messing around.

Great product and customer service. I received a hook knife set also and unfortunately it was a dud. I left feedback and was immediately sent a reply and sent a new replacement and different model at no cost. This one works great!
