Exactly like original in design. My problem was that the old canister did not allow me to add more than 1-2 gallons at a time to my truck before the pump shut off-took a long time to fill up. I've been driving around with this new one and I have filled up my tank twice-fast. When I removed the old canister, I had difficulty removing the hose from the gas tank and from the evap pressure sensor. So, I would advise anyone attempting to replace a canister to do it slowly and carefully to preserve the integrity of the connectors.
