The refill cotton pads have NO SCENT, so you need to add essential oil or perfume on them yourself.
How long will the aroma last depends on how many essential oil drops you put on the felt stick and what type of oils you use.
How to Use:

2. Apply a few drops of essential oil or perfume to one replacement cotton pad.
3. Insert the refill pad into the slot of the car decor.

I drive for Lyft, having these lovely gem bugs on the dash get a lot of looks. Originally bought them just for St. Patrick's Day, but have decided to keep them up all year long. Love that they come with unscented felt disc's for your own essential oils.Always getting compliments on how cute they are. Their quality is awesome, nothing has happened to them yet. Their size is maybe over an inch for the dragonfly. Easy to use functionality wise, just don't use excessive amount of essential oils on disc's.

This is a review of a set of 4 Butterfly Car Air Freshener Clips. The set does not include any air freshener, scents, or oils.The Butterfly clips are very cute, and will easily clip on to your Car (or Home) vents. They come with 8 unscented pads, to which you must add your preferred essential oil, or perfume.The scent is intensified when air circulates by flowing through the vent. The number of drops of scent that you apply will determine how long the scent will last. I used perfume to test my first clip, and it was still very potent the next day.I think that an essential oil is a better choice , and have ordered a set of oils which have not yet arrived.After you have depleted your supply of unscented cotton pads, you will need to find an alternative of the same size to hold your scent. I'm uncertain at this time what might work the best. Perhaps a piece of a cotton ball?This is just a fun little piece of Bling, and I am rating it 5 stars because it does exactly what it is depicted in the Amazon description.UPDATE: The perfume scent is still active and pleasing after 4 days in the car. I acquired a bottle of Essential Oil, and I think it is a better option than perfume. You can control the strength of the scent better , the perfume scent I tried on my first pad was a a litter bit too overwhelming.I also experimented with using a piece of cotton ball in place of the pad, and that worked great. I just cut it down to fit , and used a small scissors (or a tweezer ) to insert and remove the piece of cotton ball.
