Emulating an arp2600 is a tall order but this machine nails it. Cheap as well! Snap it up while you can.

Easy to use as the classic arp or the Korg re-issue.No built in speakers but output for headphones works great. So your research for noise generation / patches if you don’t have an external keyboard.Dimmer switch for the slider les’s is nice too.

Background: Drummer, Recording Engineer, Studio owner, Synthesizer owner and programmer since 1972.I owned the Original ARP 2600 in 1972 as well as a few other now Vintage Synths. I held on to that Synth until the mid 1990's, although is was only used in my Studio environment, it was in much needed repair simply due to its age and components failing. I just felt I did not have the resources to find the correct replacement modules, etc and do the repairs myself. So with great hesitation I sold it to a gentleman in Sweden (for a great deal on money) who did nothing but restore Vintage Synthesizers, the 2600 being one he specialized in. I felt it found a good home.Fast Forward to 2022… In January I started to build a new, modern Music Workstation in my music room and part of it was adding some Synthesizers. I knew I wanted an ARP 2600 again from working previously with some Virtual Software versions like Way Out Ware's TimeWarp 2600 (which is no longer supported on any newer OS Platforms). But I wanted a "Real" Hardware Version. After checking out the Behringer 2600 reviews, I was convinced that this was my best option and it certainly as proven to be.Having owned and worked with several ARP 2600's throughout my recording career I certainly experienced the subtle differences from all of them, being Analogue no 2 were 100% identical. So here is my thoughts on Behringer's "Clone".It is as authentic to the Original as you will fine, PERIOD. Yes ,Korg has also made an Excellent Clone in a form factor similar to the Original (although smaller) but it comes at a much higher price and you still need to buy a Keyboard. You can not deny the Quality and Value that this Behringer offers. The Behringer does not include a keyboard but that is not an issue. I bought their Swing to use as a dedicated Keyboard, even though I own a few Keysteps. There are a few layout differences from the Original 2600 due to the fact that there are no Speakers in the Behringer Model. The PreAmplifer and Ring Modulator Modules are located at the bottom left where the Left Speaker was on the Original. To the left of them are New Keyboard Switches and Sliders to Control things like Voice Mode, Portamento, Vibrato, Trigger & Repeat Modes and some CV, gate and Trigger Jacks. The Sample & Hold is located where the Right Speaker was. Here are all of the Pro's:The Blue Marvin has a real Spring Reverb so you get that Original ARP 2600 Sound not an emulation.Sliders that light up are a welcome addition and really give a better sense of the patches I've created (they can also be dimmed to suit your needs). You get Two Filters, The original 4012 Filter which led to a legal dispute between Moog and ARP and forced ARP, under the threat of legal action, to design a new filter. This resulted in the Model 4072 filter which was an inferior Filter due to some design flaws. But having both on this Blue Marvin is just another added benefit as the 4072 was not a bad filter, it just didn't have that 4012 charm!1/4 Inch L/R Output Jacks - The Original used 3.5mm jacks like all of the In/Out Jacks on the SynthesizerMIDI In & Thru (Didn't exist in the days of the Original)USB ConnectionPortamento 1/4 inch Footswitch Jack1/4 Inch Latch Jack - When the VOICE MODE switch is in the DUO position, playing two notes and depressing the footswitch maintains the two-note interval while you play further single notes.Fits in a 19" Rack Space or Table Top mounted. There are several Third Party Stand available as wellBEST of all…it sounds and performs just like my 2600 from 1972. I went back to my old patch book of sounds I created back then and they are true to the original. I also have a copy of the Original ARP Patch Book that Arp produced with 100 Sample Patches and this Blue Marvin produces perfect versions of all of them.Lastly, I don't understand some reviews stating there was no Documentation or Users Guide. mine came with a printed 16 page Quick Start Guide in several languages, that covers each Module. It is also available on Behringer's Web site as a PDF download. Also you can find a copy of the the Manual that came with the Original 2600 as a free download PDF and it will really be a big help to anyone who is new to this Synthesizer. So there are plenty of resources out there.I have attached photos of my Original 2600’s and my current Blue Marvin Setup.Bottom line if you want to own a Classic ARP 2600 with all of the benefits of a modern design and a very good price get yourself a Behringer 2600.
