Dieser Schutz funktioniert an sich prima. Er ist leicht anzubringen, sofern man die Strebe zunächst gründlich gereinigt und entfettet hat. Die Gummischicht ist dick genug, um die Kette beim Durchhängen abzufedern. Allerdings ist der Schutz sowohl recht kurz als auch recht schmal. Für ein Mountainbike reicht das jedenfalls nicht. In Anbetracht dessen ist am Ende auch der Preis zu hoch – es ist nur ein kleines Stück selbstklebendes Gummi!

Der aufklebbare Kettenschutz ist besonders in der Höhe etwas kleiner, als es auf einigen Produktbilder erscheint.Man sollte die Stelle gründlich reinigen und entfetten, damit der Schutz auch richtig hält, je nach Fahrrad geht der Schutz nicht über die gesamte Länge der Strebe, aber das muss er auch nicht unbedingt.Die kleinen Puffer stehen leicht von der Oberfläche ab und bieten so einen leichten Puffer.Das Anbringen ist leicht und optisch fällt das je nach Rahmenfarbe kaum auf.

The protective film that came on my bike was starting to wear away so this was a nice replacement to stop the chain damaging the frame.After preparing the frame with some IPA to degrease, it sticks down really well and has stayed in place.My only issue is this is quite a soft silicone feeling protector, which I'm not sure on long term protection as would expect the chain to damage it quicker than if it were a hard plastic.However, if it were a hard plastic, it would have to be bike specific as it wouldn't be able to be easily moulded to any frame, which this does do easily, so for that reason along with the good price I'm happy to give it 5 stars. It should last a good while and it's very affordable to replace if needed.

This is slightly smaller than I had hoped. but at least the bumps to absorb the chain slap and soft hollow rubber, so they absorb it better, and not hard blocks which don't work to stop noise.For £7 (Jul '24) its good value though and the shape allows it to wrap the chainstay a bit and at the front protect down the side. However, it is a bit short, so this is focused on 2x drive trains with a front derailleur to stop the chain contacting at that point, which is a shame. Needs to be 5 or more cm longer and cut to size imo.The adhesive covers the entire back of it, but the base material rubber is actually faily thin.I think this could be improved with being longer and more side wrap, but actually its ok and thus ok value, though better can be found (for more money).Really needs a 1cm wide flatish topped chain stay, narrow or round and oval ones it won't fit so well.
