I got this old-fashioned telescope for our computer room/TV room/toilet room to display on a shelf due to the fact that I have done this room for my husband who is a Navy veteran. I just thought this might be a cool audition to the idea of a different types of sea faring items there were. So this telescope arrives and it’s in a very nice leather case to begin with. I had my husband open it because really it’s for him and he was thrilled. He thought this was one of the coolest things he’d seen after he took it out. He easily pulled it open and was checking it over as far ass to how worked and whether it was functional, but as I explained him, it really is supposed to refer a display on his walls, but he was definitely testing out whether it works or not said it did. He like myself loved how realistic it looks it has such an old patina look to it and as a pointed out, it actually has a really nice case made of leather, and the telescope itself appears to be made of some sort of brass or perhaps something made to look like brass. It’s surprisingly heavy and definitely not something for our little kids to be running around and playing with. In my opinion. This is a grown-ups collectible. What a great gaff this would make for someone who is interested in ships, pirates, just mariner stuff in general. Realistic, heavy duty, and a good value for a really neat looking and unusual collectible.

This is a beautifully made, real leather and brass telescope. I got it on a whim for my children and they love it. However, they would probably love it even more if it worked. I just can't see through this thing and I've tried twisting it, sliding it up and down you name it. At best, I might see a blurry color or light. At worst, I just see blackness. One might say that that's on me, but the front part of the glass also has what looks to be like a immoveable glue stain or something; some defect in the glass. I don't know what it is, but it covers a significant portion of the glass at the fat end of the telescope and I do wonder if that's what's making everything perpetually blurry. Otherwise it's great.

I picked this purely for asthetics; I've got a industrial style house, and this matched a compass I had nicely. The leather case is beautiful, the engravings are precise and clear, and the telescope itself has a lot of cool attention to detail that makes it a beautiful show piece. The icing on the cake? It magnifies distant objects beautifully. Make sure to remove the cover of the end, and set yourself up to look at something far enough away. I was convinced it couldn't focus in a small room I tested it out in, but after I tried it out pointed down the hall, I was amazed at how aggressively it magnified the lock to my window. Before giving up on it, take it outside and try to focus on something down the street. This is a cool find, and a reasonable value relative to the quality that you're receiving. I'm very pleased with this find, and would highly recommend it!

This is a fantastic replica of an antique sailing telescope. The kind once used by ship captains. It's nicely made of quality brass and leather by A S Handicrafts. A unique collectible for nautical history enthusiasts! Or the perfect gift for a cosplay pirate! Also looks very steampunk. It would be a great costume prop for stage productions and parties. On top of that, it really works as a telescope! It focuses by sliding the tube in and out. The solid brass scope is hefty and includes a brass lens cap. There is a pullout shade to provide cover for the lens from the sun’s rays. The leather sleeves no doubt keep your hand from freezing to the brass in polar oceans. The leather and brass have decorative and scientific markings on them. The telescope is 16.75 inches long when fully extended, and it collapses down to 5.5 inches. It comes in a beautiful hand-stitched leather case with embossed designs on all sides. My husband loves this vintage telescope!

Incredible! I knew this would make a great accessory for the renaissance festival but I’m truly impressed with the quality and the fact it actually WORKS! When I opened the box I could smell the leather. It’s not a toy but a working telescope. The lenses have an old world feel while providing clear views. I cannot to use this. If you are into steampunk, nautical or cosplay this is a fantastic addition. For just under $30 this is a bargain and an extreme value! The size is compact and easy to cary without sacrificing looks or usability. I highly recommend this telescope.

Bel item de dēcoration. Moins efficace si le but est de s'en servir vraiment comme longue vue
