Couldn't figure out why my '06 Rancher was all of a sudden leaking exhaust at the manifold as I installed a new ring when I rebuilt the motor just a few years back.Turns out the previous owner had installed a new ring as well... on top of the old one. So when I went to do it, I ALSO installed a second ring as I only pried one out and assumed that was it. Fast forward to now, and it was leaking already. When I went to remove the one I installed, there was still a second one mashed in there as well that I missed the first time. Once I removed that, this new one installed with zero issues. Smoke is no longer escaping from the manifold. I am happy. Cheap and easy.Pro tip: if you happen to be trying to replace this on an '06 Rancher (and probably other years as well), try as you might, you are going to have a hard time installing this if you think you can get away with just removing the bolts on the studs at the manifold and wiggling it out as far as you can. Save yourself the time, get a 12mm socket and a long extension, and loosen the pipe where it meets the muffler, and then remove the two bolts that hang the muffler up at the rear. Pull the muffler out completely. This will give you enough room to wiggle the pipe and rotate it just enough to get it out of the way to install this new ring. I wasted way too much time trying to save myself the trouble of taking the muffler off, and in the end, that was the answer. It's just 4 bolts. Easy to take off and easy to put back up when you are done.
