The old gasket between my SuperTrapp muffler/mid-pipe and the header on my '98 DR was so loose I thought the gasket had disintegrated. Turns out it was still in there, but mashed to 1/2 its thickness. Once I cleaned the old one out, this one went in by using a hardwood block with repeated light tapping keeping the block tight on the end of the gasket. Took a couple minutes to seat all the way, but using significant force would likely have crushed it. The outside surface is fairly rough, but since the dimensions are not included in the listing, I put a caliper on it before installing.It's 2.3 mm thick. 30mm long, inner diameter 38mm, outer diameter, 43mm with some variation due to the rough surface. It appears to be made of primarily graphite and steel mesh. A few of the mesh fibers were loose on the outside and caught on the edge of the separations at the end of the header when I started to insert the gasket. This made installation a bit more tricky, but once i got it started, it tapped in smoothly enough. The inside was glass smooth.

I had a FMF exhaust and midpipe that don't require this gasket, but all other aftermarket exahaust slip on do need this gasket. I bought a two brothers m7 exhaust slip on, so this gasket was a lifesaver This exhaust gasket fit fIts on the stock dr650se header pipe like oem to my two brothers like a glove, but for half the price. Must buy if you plan on getting an aftermarket exhaust slip on
