I thought the value was great here. I had to borrow a 1/2” impact and buy a grease gun but all is put together. I was way behind on mowing at my house and just finished it all up after the install. It steers GREAT NOW!

Seems like these gears wear out pretty quickly on my mower for some reason. This is the second time I've replaced these. I was replacing the belts anyway and figured sincd I was there might as well replace them. Pretty easy to install the second time round. Hopefully this one will last more then a couple years.

I am becoming somewhat of a pro at replacing these things, have done it several times now on different mowers of the same model type and this set works great! Would definitely recommend not skipping the bushing replacement even though they are a pain to do.

I ordered this for my John Deere L120 Lawn Tractor to replace my steering shaft gear and the sector gear which had stripped after approximately 540 hours. It took a little while to replace the parts. It wasn't very difficult, but I was scraping the deck and greasing and cleaning other parts of the mower while I was disassembling and reassembling so that added some time. I did not use the plastic bushing that came in the kit as my original metal ones showed very little wear and were still serviceable, so I reused those. When I first installed the replacement parts, they seemed a bit "notchy" when you turned the steering wheel - I thought perhaps the parts weren't quite as precise as the originals or maybe they just needed a bit of breaking in. Honestly, I forgot about how they felt after installing them and cut the grass today for the first time - honestly I didn't even notice what I originally had been feeling after my install. It may have been the added vibration of the engine running to cover what I initially felt or maybe it just needed a little bit of use to break them in and wear the initially sharp edges and have the gears mesh. Anyway - they steering felt great and is much improved over the sloppy wheel I had last week. I'd order these parts again if I needed them. I can't say as to whether I'll get another 540 hours out of the replacements, but only time will tell.

Worked like a charm! Fit like a glove on my John Deere L130. I ended up not using the plastic bushings it came with since the one on my tractor was fine and metal. (Plastic seemed like a definite downgrade.) best price at time of purchase I could find and trust me, I looked everywhere! I got a great deal on this part. By doing this job myself, I got a $600 lawn mower for $200 plus the cheap cost of this part and the 30 mins it took to do this job. Worth it!!!
