Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes. The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance. I was looking for skin-like dance shoes that had a more “natural” look and felt close to my feet - and these are perfect. I am usually a 7 in regular street shoe size and I sized up to an 8 in these - they fit great!My suggestion is to size up at least 1 size. If you feet are regular 1 size, if you feel like your feet are a bit more bulky and/or wide maybe 1.5 even.Hope this helps!

very good shoe, thiey're built strong and fit the foot like a glove. idk about jazzing in this shoe as i do not know what jazzing looks like. i got these before i saw the yeezy pods were $20 on yeezy dot com :/ . now im stuck with these capeezys

I ordered 10.5 wide. I usually wear a 9. These shoes are neither wide nor long enough. The toe box and padding on the bottom are both very narrow. The quality of the shoe is amazing. If I had narrow feet and wore a smaller size, they would be a win.

I have been purchasing both the Capezio EOS Canvas (and leather) Jazz shoe for years. They were always sturdy and held up well.The version of the Capezio EOS (CANVAS) I received this time around is cheap! Thin (THIN) canvas. Floppy. No stretch at the opening. Inside heel pad not even completely glued on. I can't believe this is the same Capezio company.

It was tough finding jazz shoes this summer. They were out of stock at Bloch and Capezio and another pair I ordered from Capezio got cancelled so Amazon to the rescue and I was able to order these and a leather pair by Capezio and my daughter who has wide feet preferred these. She said they hugged her feet like socks and they have thicker heels than other jazz shoes. Thankfully these worked out. Not sure if they will last longer than leather, but they’re comfortable and probably washable!

Very comfortable, great quality shoes. I recommend without hesitation. Only thing to be aware of is the size. I’m normally a size 8 but bought a 9W based on other reviews I read and knowing I need wide shoes. Fit perfectly so maybe you need to size up? I wear regular thickness socks with mine. I normally dance for at least an hour and my feet are quite comfortable in them. I was wearing ballet flats before and my toes would hurt and some areas were pink which is what prompted my search for these shoes. You’ll love these shoes and the price is reasonable as well.

Daughter loves them and are good quality for middle school dance team. The seam runs tight on the top of the foot-rubbed the skin raw for a couple of days until they break-inWe have purchased several pairs as her feet have grown and have always been happy.

As an 82year-old male wannabe ballet dancer (actually just trying to get rid of my tum), I wanted some shoes so I wouldn't kill myself of the dance floor. I bought these because I couldn't get any men's shoes that I thought would do the job. My men's size plus 2 gave me the women's size. The shoes fit just fine without socks and so I'm off to the next lesson. Turn over in your grave, Nureyev. Let me at it!

Bought for the price, can't beat $12.SIZING:I ordered a size 5 women's for my 9 year olds daughters size 1 (child size) foot. I followed reviews, after converting her child size to women (2 sizes up), I then also ordered 2 sizes larger, so that came to a 5. Fits snugly around her foot with about 1/2in. at the toe, which is what I wanted because her feet are obviously still growing.
