The main body is aluminum and works well as expected. The band clamps are kind of cheap and use heat shrink tubing for protection. The small clamps were good for my fire extinguisher but I find the large clamps too big to mount the holder onto my jeep roll bars. Will have to modify.

Very well built. All aluminum construction. I use this with a 2.5lb fire extinguisher and it holds rock solid.I would not hesitate to purchase another one. There are other mounts on Amazon that look very similar and are cheaper but they are made of plastic nylon material. This mount is100% all metal construction.

Excellent quick release fire extinguisher mount at a great price. Item was purchased as part of a driver's seat extinguisher mount I am building to mount on the front seat track/under the legs in a 2002 Ford F-150 Lariat 4x4. Perfect item for the build, after making the mounting base of bar stock shaped to mount in track, quick release mount marked and riveted into place ready to be bolted to the seat. After test fitting and verifying ease of use, entire assembly is now ready to be permanently mounted. Note: I knew this is actually designed to be mounted to something like a roll cage not the bottom of a seat when I got it, as such I expected to have to build a base for it. Had I used the mount as designed on something with a roll cage all I would have needed to do was strap it on and go and it would have worked perfectly without any extra work. This design is perfect for a quick mount or as part of a custom build. I have looked at a number of higher priced similarly designed quick release extinguisher mounts and all things assumed to be equal quality wise, I felt this item was a perfect fit for my build. Now time hope that this is never actually needed and the only time it is "used" is when changing out outdated extinguishers and/or when cleaning. I feel that if/when needed this item will work as intended to quickly allow access to the fire extinguisher as well as keeping it from rolling around the floor boards or becoming a projectile during a wreck.

Highly recommend. Has survived hundreds of miles on off road trails in canam sxs and bought a second for my sand car. Easy to get out if needed even when covered in dirt and grime.

I bought this as a spare to the $70 Scott Drake mount I ordered. This one is nicer and 1/3 of the cost. Has nice anti-rattle detents and bar padding. I'll be returning the Scott Drake
