The most important thing. It works. It is also easy to install and is an important safety feature for any home. Fits anywhere, works well and has economical battery usage. Recommended

Got this unit to have an extra detector near the bedrooms. From what i can tell, it seems to be working fine. You need to have three AA batteries, which are not included. Other than that, it was easy to install with two screws. Testing with a push of the center button indicated that it was working. The lights came on and the alarm sounded. It showed 000ppm. Have not had any emergency sirens with it, so that is a good thing! The standby light does blink every minute or so, so that shows that it is active. Glad to have this as something that could save lives. A wise investment.

I installed the battery, mounted it on the wall and tested it. Everything is great. It was easy to install and is a no brainer to test. I don't know if it works as I have no reason to believe there has been a carbon monoxide leak or that it didn't detect the Carbon Monoxide.

This one was easy to setup and install without much "handiness" being necessary. It comes with all of the component pieces you would need to mount it, but the directions as a little off since there weren't arrows to be found on the mounting plate (see direction 3 in the last photo). Now, I had the pleasure of using previous holes that weren't lined up already, but since it's in a cabinet I was aiming to use existing holes (that's why it's off kilter; No I didn't hang the original). The item's size is completely reasonable and would allow someone to place it wherever they may have concerns. I don't have a meaningful way to test as to whether it reports on gases its claiming, but I'm assuming the maker has constructed it correctly in this respect (fingers crossed). The noise is quite loud in testing and I'm confident anyone in my home is going to hear it. The test function is simple to follow, and the value of the item is comparable to other similar options on the market. The screen on it is clear and shows when in test mode. The lights follow their stated function as you would hope/expect got this alarm.Overall, I'm quite content with the purchase and I'm sure everyone else would be as well (based on application). Good luck!

I ordered this CO detector to replace an old detector that failed. Installing 3 AA batteries is easy. The detector is easy to test and sufficiently loud. I like the green standby LED that flashes every 30 seconds. The PPM display turns on only during testing, probably in order to conserve the batteries. Battery life is unknown.Mounting should be intuitive, but isn't. The mounting bracket has 2 keyhole slots that they DON'T want you to use. You're supposed to use the 2 small holes located 60 mm (about 2-3/8") apart. Even so you will have problems getting the orientation you want. What finally worked was installing the bracket with a single screw, installing the detector, rotating as needed to get the desired orientation, then holding the mounting bracket firmly while removing the detector, then marking the location of the 2nd screw hole and installing the 2nd screw. The provided User's Manual has errors. It says that the arrow on the back of the detector should be aligned with the arrow on the mounting bracket, but the mounting bracket has no arrow. The manual says you must open the battery door to install batteries, but there is no battery door.I think I'll like the detector over the long term. I've deducted a star to indicate the detector is good enough but not great.

I recently had my old Kidde brand CO detector reach its end-of-life cycle rendering it no longer useful so you have to purchase another even though it was still functioning just fine. Upon receipt of this unit, I installed the required batteries, pushed the TEST button and it came to life. Good start. I then took the mounting bracket, screws and anchors, drilled into the wall, inserted the anchors and installed the bracket. I was shocked when I attached and locked in the detector in the bracket to discover that the display was about 15 degrees off level. Seriously? The bracket had 2 keyhole slots spaced about two inches apart for mounting similar the the old bracket for the Kidde brand. Turns out the bracket mounting instructions did not have you use the obvious. Instead there were two other small holes nearer the center of the bracket that were supposed to be used and were in a vertical plane instead of horizontal. Strange way to mount anything hanging on the wall. I was not about to put more holes and anchors into the wall so removed the screws and backed them up with washers so I could twist the whole mounting bracket to make the display level without the screws being able to slip out of the larger hole area of the keyhole slots. Should I really have to read instructions on how to mount a bracket to the wall when to most people it would be obvious to use the two horizontally spaced keyhole slots? If not for mounting the bracket what possible use could they have served? Three stars for the mounting bracket design. Cannot really review the detector itself that I have no way to verify. Hope it works.
