After my OEM carrier bearings went bad at 102,000 miles, I pulled the rear driveshaft, cut the bearings off with an angle grinder, purchased two aftermarket bearing assemblies and attempted to separate the 3-piece shaft. I got one piece apart with a torch and a heavy hammer and blunt chisel, but after heatin' 'n' beatin' on the other side for hours, it still wouldn't budge, so I gave up and bought this. I suggest you learn from my mistake. Even the machinist I called said that he has had limited success in the past getting these apart. Not sure why I thought I knew better, haha.FYI, you don't need to reuse your OEM U-clips on the front carrier bearing bracket (they don't fit anyway, since the cast aluminum bracket is thicker).Good luck.
