Please don't waste your money I was truly disappointed in this. Just tried it on my horse tonight and he was sweating profusely it's only 74. This material does not breathe.

In general, I really like this fly sheet. I wasn't looking to spend a fortune. I normally don't do fly sheets, because I find them to be too hot in the midwest summer. However, the "bombers" were particularly bad this summer, so I caved. I've always loved Cashel, so this was my default for a fly sheet. I have a Thoroughbred who is built a bit more like a QH. (Don't tell him that.) The gussets prevent shoulder rubs for him. He has plenty of room to move comfortably. I like having the option of leg straps or a tail strap. I do wish it had a tail flap, but so far it hasn't been a problem. I know a lot of fly sheets have a belly band; this one has normal surcingles. I am really indifferent. The surcingles do the job and we haven't needed the belly band. My horse normally wears a 78" blanket, so the sizing was accurate.The reason I took off one star is due to the velcro closure at the chest. There is a strip of velcro with a standard buckle closure over top. I like this design, and prefer the extra velcro to prevent shifting. However, the velcro here began to separate from the fly sheet after a week of normal wear. Just the act of taking the sheet off caused the stitching to come loose. I've not experienced this problem with any other sheets or blankets. Horse "clothing" really needs to be durable and this velcro feature leaves something to be desired.
