My 1984 Mercury 2 Stroke 90 hp "tower of power" was putting out too much voltage. I was seeing voltage as high as 18.5 at wide open throttle, which obviously is bad for your electrical systems and your battery. I replaced the existing rectifier with this unit, and the problem is solved. Voltage now consistently at 14 - 14.5 where it should be.

Installed on Older Merc. after many Merc. part failures. Minor modifications are required but, well worth the small effort.

Used this to upgrade the old Mercury rectifier setup. My charging voltage was 16.0+ volts at cruising speed, this will kill a battery in no time. This is not plug and play and had to re-drill a bolt hole to line up, but with some simple skills, it can be installed without a lot of problems. Now, my voltage is never over 13.8 and works perfectly.

Failed right out of the box. I know CDI products are legit and I will continue to buy CDI. Just disappointed I finally encountered one that immediately failed....I guess it happens.

My boat engine was charging at 17 volts until I installed this. It now charges at 14 volts like it should. Great product!

I installed this on my 1988 Mercury in-line six 115HP outboard and it's working perfectly. As you may or may not know, earlier outboards did not have any form of voltage regulation. The OEM rectifier was sending nearly 18v through my electrical system at high rpm, shortening the life of my battery (preventing me from even considering a no-maintenance or gel battery due to the excessive charge), caused my fish finder to cut out intermittently, and stereo to clip. I installed this regulator/rectifier in minutes and now have a constant 14v coming out of the motor.
